USING EVIDENCE-BASED WELLBEING SCIENCE TO DRIVE
WHOLE-PERSON DEVELOPMENT AT SCHOOL
A program focused on the practices that promote positive mental health and protect against mental illness.
Most mental health education is focused on the awareness of mental ill-health signs and symptoms. There is nothing inherently wrong with this.
However, research in mental health shows us that moving toward mental health is protective against mental illness. And, the absence of mental illness doesn’t necessarily mean we are mentally healthy.
In the same way that the promotion of physical health protects us from physical illness and injury, the promotion of mental health protects us from mental illness and ill-health.
What does it mean to be mentally healthy?
Educating students on the functions that promote mental health arm them with the knowledge and skills to adapt to the daily stressors of life and move toward their whole-person potential.
Build a program that is truly focused on mental health and flourishing.
